Il cast originale della prima stagione di Twin Peaks si è riunito virtualmente in un video voluto da Madchen Amick (l’attrice che nella serie interpreta Shelly Johnson) per mandare un chiaro segnale alla Showtime, il network americano che ha comprato i diritti di Twin Peaks per la terza stagione diretta interamente da David Lynch (questo almeno nei comunicati stampa).
L’antefatto è il proprio il messaggio Facebook del regista americano, co-creatore della serie insieme a Mark Frost e regista di alcuni episodi, nel quale spiegava che avrebbe lasciato il progetto, da lui tanto amato, perché il network non avrebbe stanziato abbastanza soldi per la realizzazione.

Molti attori del progetto si sono stretti intorno alla sua figura e hanno dichiarato che non ci può essere un Twin Peaks senza David Lynch. Hanno anche aperto una pagina Facebook gestita da Sherilyn Fenn (Audrey Horne nella serie). Un caso di attaccamento al proprio pigmalione senza pari.
I dirigenti di Showtime intanto stanno sempre negoziando con David Lynch per averlo come regista, come andrà a finire, lo scopriremo proprio nei prossimi giorni.
